THE FOUR SEASONS HOTEL – JUMEIRAH, DUBAI

Our experience of working with the ‘Four Seasons Hotel’ Jumeirah Dubai, was superb. Our role as a consultant was to consider how the main hotel in the resort could enhance its reach or ‘resonance’ with a European and specifically British traveller. Explore WOOLF Commercial projects.

The Resort was already a really well designed ‘going concern’ when we looked at the project. Initial impressions are really striking, numerous international design influences coalesce in the key public spaces and in the interior detailing, which is particularly evident in the Arabian inspired archways and patinated bronze panelled lift doors, which juxtapose against the Art Deco ‘Fortnum and Mason’ style central stair swoop. The layers of rich contemporary textiles and elegant silvered tea service contrast beautifully against the stunning architectural views over Dubai to the north and the sunny beach scene to the south. Overall the setting is truly scrumptious.

Here are some of our favourite spaces courtesy of the ‘ Four Seasons’.

The resort is on the edge of the Arabian Gulf. The Main hotel is a perfect blend of contemporary style and authentic Arabic design with a twist of British styling. As explained by Regional Vice President and General Manager Simon Casson. “For those already familiar with Dubai's over-the-top, often ornate formality, prepare to be surprised by this intimately scaled, luxurious enclave of comfort and style. Throughout, guests can expect highly personalized service that is consistent with Four Seasons hotels and resorts around the world."

 FOR INTREPID TRAVELERS

As the temperature drops in the UK, Dubai is the smart traveller's choice – a manageable seven-hour flight and guaranteed sunbathing temperatures. The Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach is a place to call home. The resort has quickly established itself as the place to stay in Dubai, upholding the brand's reputation for luxury and excellence, with the added je ne sais quoi that elevates a hotel from 'great' to 'exceptional.'  Explore WOOLF Commercial projects.

In a city famous for its OTT glitz and glamour, and soulless high-rises, Four Seasons has built a hotel that exudes understated elegance. An Instagrammer's dream, the communal areas are chic yet characterful, thanks to an intelligent scheme of Mediterranean architecture with accents of Arabic decor and dramatic flower arrangements. Bedrooms and suites are spacious, airy and bright – we loved the large wood-panelled walk-in-wardrobe, marble-swathed bathrooms, and sweet treats of baklava, chocolate and candied which appear as if my magic. The giant balcony sofas piled high with cushions, have panoramic views of the bright city surrounding the Burj Khalifa.

LUXURY

The hotel's location on the north end of Jumeirah Beach is unbeatable, a quick 25-minute journey from Dubai International Airport, it is also convenient for the lively downtown nightlife. As you walk into the lobby, you can immediately see, through a huge arched Arabian modernist window, the ocean framed by manicured lawns, palm-trees and a pristine sandy beach. There are also two beautiful pools; ‘the Active Pool and the Quiet Pool’, where, for added levels of indulgence, you can book one of the day cabanas, which come with a private butler service, a giant basket of fresh fruit and an all-channel television.

STUNNING SPA

The hotel's world-class Pearl Spa boasts a cool beige, white and aquamarine colour scheme – echoing the surrounding desert and sea – which immediately lulls you into a zen-like state. Occupying 7,600 square feet, it's the ideal spot from which to while away the hours, unwinding in the steam room, heated whirlpool and rain shower, doing lengths in the glass-canopied indoor pool, or just curling up in a relaxation area stocked with flavoured waters, herbal teas and glass jars filled to the brim with almonds and dried mango. The cavernous changing rooms are equipped with all the styling and beauty products you could possibly need (straighteners, hairspray, Etro lotions and potions) and the robes and slippers are the chicest we've ever seen. Book in to one of 10 treatment rooms for a massage, facial or body scrub and you are guaranteed to leave with soothed muscles and a tranquil mind.

"Our Spa has been designed as a Four Seasons showpiece on a global scale," says Spa Director Hayley Bluett. "A full menu of traditional healing rituals and cutting-edge therapies will be highlighted by a deluxe aqua-thermal experience that includes rain tunnel, scrub bar, chill zone, steam and whirlpool. Each of our treatment rooms opens to a discreet outdoor space and has its own foot ritual bath. The Royal Spa Suite includes wet and dry suites within, along with a secluded outdoor terrace, relaxation lounge and bathtub for two. We'll also offer rasul mud treatments for couples in this very private, exclusive space."

In a city known for its spas, The Spa at Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach is set to become a destination unto itself.

MASTER PLAN

An architectural master plan that has respectfully and sensitively taken into account the scale of the adjacent buildings on the approach to the resort from Jumeirah Road. Designed with sensitivity Arabic elements in the balcony arches of guest rooms cleverly frame the views towards the Burj Khalifa and downtown Dubai in a perfect silhouette against the desert sky. Cool marbles and stonework draw on elements of Andalusian, Moroccan, Mediterranean and Asian influences to create an international mélange of design details appropriate to the region. The team who have deigned the resort and the team who run its operations are a highly professional internationally focused group. Their commitment to excellence and attention to every possible experiential detail are evident in every respect. Explore WOOLF Commercial projects.

 SUQ

Suq is conceived as a lively, market-style restaurant with three open kitchens featuring eclectic international cuisine, while the casual beach and pool grill Sea Fu will transform into an open air fine seafood restaurant each evening. The Shai Salon – meaning "tea" in Arabic – is the ideal meeting place for friends or colleagues to social over tea and light fare, right by the main entrance and opening into the gardens.
